Review: A main goal for us while travelling is to experience the culture. Jimbaran in South Kuta was very non-touristy, awesome street food everywhere, and the best part was a great gym. Klub Jimbaran is easy to find if you stick to the main roads and use google maps as a guide. It's a big community centre so it's easy to see. Pay your drop in fee at the reception and walk past the big pool area, follow the path downstairs and around a few corners and you'll find the gym.

We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised to see a row of modern and functioning treadmills along with other cardio equipment. As much as we loved just lifting weights the past couple weeks, we did need to get some cardio in.

The gym is well taken care of and all the equipment is new. There are lots of benches, free weights, Olympic bars and plates and many pin-loaded machines. It would easily pass as your "standard western gym". Only disappointment was the lack of a squat rack. Seems like Bali is very upper-body-orientated.

Some of the equipment:

Dumbbells up to 40kg
Smith machine
Cables
Adjustable Benches
Barbell bench press & incline & decline
Pec Dec
Biceps curl machine
Lat pull-down
Leg press
Leg extension & curl
Bars and plates
A lot of pin-loaded machines
Treadmills & ellipticals & stair climbers
Rower

It's very clean and well air conditioned, which is a bonus to escape the heat outside. The music is great, playing pump up hip hop and remixed pop songs. There was a mix of locals and tourists both female and male when we were there. One afternoon and one evening, it wasn't very busy either time.

We were also very surprised by the changing rooms, toilet and showers you get for the small fee. There are lockers for a IDR 20,000 deposit, which you get back at the end.

As well as the gym, Klub Jimbaran also has a great outdoor swimming pool, but you need to pay and an additional fee to use this.

Who is this gym for? The atmosphere here was professional and the gym was great.  This gym is a hidden gem in South Kuta. Of course it's quite a bit away from everything but if you're staying in the Jimbaran area it is a must-go. Such a great place for so little money. One of the few gyms where you won't be covered in sweat and dirt after your workout. We would recommend that anyone looking to train in this part of Bali.

Tips: Only downside is the water - they don't have a water dispenser and a small water is around IDR 20,000. So bring your own water or pay the price.
