Review: Having left Vietnam, I was contacted by Danney from a new gym called Superfit Hoi An. He told me about a new gym that had just opened in Hoi An and asked if I could add it to my site.

So, whilst I cannot give a personal review of this gym, this is what Danney had to say:

"We are a young group of people with diverse skills to form and provide a unique fitness centre for you to challenge yourself physically and mentally. The gym was opened in January 2017, designed and focus to make the gym more attractive to Hoi An travellers, expats, and local Vietnamese. We are committed to providing a modern facility, a friendly environment, and a community of all skill and fitness levels. We caters to all individuals with the best equipment in town, certified personal trainers, and a wide variety of fitness classes such as: Zumba, Yoga, Fightfit, Jamfit, Corefit, Sexydance...

Superfit Hoi An Fitness & Yoga also engage with the community by partnering with local charitable programs."

A day pass here includes locker, towels, sauna, shower, and access to the various classes they offer. You can check out the class timetable below in the photos, or see their facebook page for up to date details.

According to the Danney the gym has:

  • Dumbbells weights up to 40kg,
  • plates weights up to 20kg,
  • supported machines
  • olympic bars
  • some cross fit equipment
  • trendmill,
  • static bikes,
  • elliptical
  • focus mitts
  • Punch bag
  • a group studio
  • yoga classes
  • showers
  • lockers

You can check out Superfit Hoi An's Grand Opening video here, which shows a bit more about the gym and the equipment they have.

Who is this gym for? At 100 VND per session, Superfit Hoi An is twice as expensive as the other other gyms in Hoi An. It would seem that they are aiming for a different section of the market. If budget is you main concern, you may want to look elsewhere in town for your workout.

However, from the description of this gym, and the quality of their promotional material, it seems that they are trying hard to promote an inclusive training environment where everyone is welcome. As I haven't been here yet myself, I can't comment, but their social media activity seems very professional and a substantial investment has obviously been made in this gym.

Let me know in the comments below if you have been here. What did you think? Whats the gym like etc?

  1. Adjustable Dumbbells are really important to boost muscle. Without dumbbells it would be really tough to build a strong muscle.
